When I look at a tree,
I want to be like the tree.
Rooted deep, reaching heavenwards
catching the breeze and letting it go.
When I look at the ocean,
I want to be like the ocean.
Ever changing, ever mysterious
ebbing and flowing in just the right rhythm.
When I look at a fire,
I want to be like the fire.
Captivating, calming, mesmerizing, inviting
like elemental jazz music.
But when I look at the person in front of me,
and I mean really look,
I want to be like the Christ,
because what I'm seeing
is the image of God.
